It’s the beginning of another holiday season! San Francisco will soon light the Bay up with twinkling lights and an air of celebration and cheer. The Bay Area has many wonderful events before and after the winter equinox for everyone to enjoy.

Once we get through Thanksgiving, there will be several holiday events for the whole family. San Francisco has plenty of holiday cheer in November and December, from annual traditions to new opportunities. Here are a few of our favorite upcoming events:

SF Broadway Theater in December: A Christmas Carol

Golden Gate Theater
Charles Dickens’ tale of Ebeneezer Scrooge’s visitation by the three spirits of Christmas comes to the stage for most of December!

Pier 39 Christmas Tree Lighting

Pier 39
Watch the iconic tree being lit on for the first time of the season on Black Friday at 5:00 PM.

 The Great Dickens Christmas Fair

Enjoy a Victorian Holiday Party and Christmas market! Tickets go on sale on November 1st, with dates to be announced.

Ice Skating

Come down to Union Square for a winter ice skate in the midst of it all!

San Francisco Ballet presents: The Nutcracker
December 10th to the 30th
War Memorial Opera House
It’s an annual tradition! Join Clara’s magical journey against the mice to save the gingerbread men with the help of her enchanted Nutcracker!

And Just Leaks is proud to sponsor San Jose’s own Christmas in the Park this year!

Christmas In The Park
Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park (Downtown San Jose)
Since the early 1950s, when the display was originally set up on the front lawn of the Lima Family Mortuary, through its placement on the front lawn of City Hall during the 1970s and where it has been since 1980, the Christmas in the Park display is a tradition for our community. In 2021 we are excited to bring the tradition back to downtown San Jose’s Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park. We also have a few new surprises as well including new light displays, a brand new 65′ tall walk-through Christmas tree, and Blinky’s Tavern – an all-new inflatable beer and wine garden! As always, admission is free to our downtown event. The theme for this year’s event is “A Very Beary Christmas.”
The fun begins on November 26th with the Christmas Tree Lighting!
